Lake House Addition

Addition and complete renovation of single-family home on the South Shore
Project Overview
After successfully helping our clients redesign their downtown apartment, they returned to us for a much larger challenge: overhauling their fixer-upper in the South Shore. Originally built in the 1980s, this sprawling 6,200-square-foot home was in need of significant repairs and modernization. We embraced the challenge of maintaining key architectural features that gave the home its original character, such as its exposed beams, monumental fireplace, and original pine floors, while introducing eclectic, contemporary design elements to reflect our client’s aesthetic taste and improve the overall functionality.

In addition to the structural changes, we provided comprehensive interior design services, including selecting and sourcing all FF&E, as well as accessories, lighting, and artwork.
My Contributions
Played a hands-on role across multiple phases, from the interior design conceptual phase to the final installation and styling of the spaces. Facilitated construction management by conducting site visits, supervising installations, and coordinating with vendors to help maintain the project’s timeline and quality standards. Designed and supervised installation of great room accent wall. Independently sourced and installed all accessories and décor.
Design Development
Our team undertook a complete renovation to both the interior and exterior. On the second level, we designed an addition to add two new bedrooms, a full bathroom and to create better flow in the all new primary suite.

Each room was carefully curated to reflect a cohesive design vision that combined the clients’ love for eclectic, global-inspired pieces with clean lines and modern finishes. We also worked with the clients to incorporate a mix of textures, colors, and materials that not only complemented the home’s natural surroundings but also created inviting, functional spaces for everyday living.
During construction, I contributed to the project management and supervision for this project. We met with the contractor and clients to review the work completed and address any questions or concerns from all stakeholders. Vigilant attention to detail was required to ensure any construction or finishing details that deviated from the original design intent. were quickly resolved in a way that aligned to the project goals.

A critical aspect of the project was coordinating with multiple vendors, including suppliers of custom furnishings, fixtures, and materials. We worked closely with our trusted vendors to source high-quality products that aligned with the design vision. From selecting flooring and wall treatments to choosing light fixtures and furniture, I was involved in every step of the procurement process. I ensured that all materials met the necessary specifications and handled the logistics of deliveries and installations.
Product Management
The end result is a home that feels fresh, open, and modern, yet retains its original charm and character. From the meticulously designed living spaces to the carefully chosen furnishings, every detail was thoughtfully considered to ensure the home met both the aesthetic and practical needs of our clients.
